    Heating and cooling tips

You never know how this Minnesota weather will be.  We thought we should share some tips with you about heating and cooling your home more efficiently.

-Install Ceiling Fans.  Ceiling fans can circulate the air, keeping you cool in the summer, and circulating the heat in the winter.
-Have a programmable thermostat installed.  Remember to set the thermostat to keep your house at a certain temp.
-Insulate everything.  Make sure there is adequate insulation everywhere, like the attic, in your walls, around windows and doors.  Gaps will let cold air out or cold air in.
-Spray foam areas.  For those hard to reach areas where its hard to insulate, use spray foam filler.  This will expand and fill the area, so no air will escape.
-Caulk windows and doors.  This will prevent the air from coming into the house.  Caulking is very inexpensive and it will save money on heating costs.
-Reapply weather stripping.  Weather stripping wears easily.  Replace the stripping to help air from escaping through gaps.

These are just a few tips that we found helpful as being home owners.  Hope that you will find these tips useful.  Do you have any more tips to add to this list? Comment below!
